One huge compost heap

Yesterday we made the largest compost heap you can imagine, up at the top of the field. We used 2 normal sized old pallets for the sides, and one extra long pallet for the back. We then layered the compost heap, with old compost, rotten apples, hay and old squash plants. By the time we had finished you could not see over the top of it! We covered it all with an old tent groundsheet and tied it down. It was hard work but a great result.
