Sweetcorn for lunch!

Today we harvested 4 ripe sweetcorn and cooked them for our lunch! It was a nice moment in the middle of another wet Monday!

We also harvested potatoes, climbing french beans, runner beans, calabrese (the plant that is often called broccoli), tomatoes, parsley, cucumbers and flowers.

Harvesting is the success story. The low points of the day were discovering the slugs had eaten our second lot of Kohl Rabi plants (the pigeons ate the first), and our Calabrese plants near the barn had so many slugs on them it was like a horror movie! We had to pull them all up. Luckily the slugs haven't found our other Calabrese bed by the polytunnel.
