First strawberries

June 14, 2017

This week we found our first ripe strawberries. On Tuesday we found a handful, which we ate on the spot (!) but today we managed to pick several punnets...

Its been a hot week so far, with lots of watering to be done. We have also planted rondo peas, courgettes and tomatoes outside. Inside we have been thinning carrots and lettuces. We have put mypex mats around some of the young fruit trees at the top of the field, and weeded the bed with broad beans in.

Yesterday we picked a handful of cosmos flowers and today our first sweet peas. Its lovely having flowers in the polytunnel and in the beds outside.
